Brookes beats off Ellison for Dutch win

Josh Brookes pulled off the victory in a dramatic second MCE British Superbike Championship race at Assen as the Milwaukee Yamaha rider fought off the challenges from James Ellison and the chasing pack in a tense battle for the win.

The start of the race was the battle of the nerves as the rain started to fall, but then halted and as the track continued to dry before the start all of the riders opted for slick tyres apart from Dan Linfoot and Honda Racing.

Brookes tops standings after double race win

Milwaukee Yamaha's Josh Brookes delivered an impressive second victory at Cadwell Park edging out his MCE British Superbike Championship title rivals to extend his points advantage in the overall standings and move ahead of Shane 'Shakey' Byrne in the Podium Points tally. The battle to be inside the top six has also intensified with just three races at Oulton Park now remaining before the Showdown.

Brookes takes another double at Thruxton

Josh Brookes took his second Thruxton double in as many years to the delight of his Milwaukee Yamaha team, while two new riders visited the BSB podium in the form of James Westmoreland and Luke Mossey.

Following a scintillating qualifying session it was Brookes on pole for race one ahead of John Hopkins who showed an impressive return to form this weekend on the Ducati, with youngster Mossey in third.
