Hunter Abbott switches to Power Maxed Racing for 2016 BTCC

Power Maxed Racing has recruited Hunter Abbott to drive a Chevrolet Cruze in the 2016 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship. It follows the news that Dave Newsham, who raced for PMR last season is to switch his attention to the British Rallycross Championship this year.

The team has made great strides forward since joining the BTCC at the start of last year. Following the change of ownership to Power Maxed and the appointment of Martin Broadhurst as Technical Director, the squad has made significant gains in every element of its racing programme.

Newsham "sad to leave BTCC" as he launches rallycross campaign

BTCC race winner Dave newsham has announced he won't be returning to the championship this season, but will instead be racing in the British Rallycross Championship.

Newsham tried rallycross in 2014, taking part in the Croft Grand Prix, but this will be the first time he has competed over a full season. However Newsham is staying with the Power Maxed Racing team with which he raced in the BTCC in 2015. The team will enter a 600 BHP, All-Wheel-Drive Ford Fiesta in the Supercar class.
