Share a Story 2017: Winners' Day!

Our winners: Ben, Maisie, Ursula & Molly receive their certificates from Tillie & Michael Rosen

Share a Story 2017 Winners: Maisie, Ben, Molly & Ursula came to CITV in MediaCityUK to check out the progress of their animations and also record their voice overs.

Maisie watching the animatic for her story: My Daddy's Stinky Dancing Pants

First off they met with Carl who showed them the animatic stage - this is the stage where a series of rough sketches of each scene are placed against a guide voice over to work out the timings for each sequence of their story

The crew getting ready for Sam & Michael to show Ben his seagull designs

Each of our winners met with their animator who talked them through character designs, backgrounds & colours. They also got to see the latest animation tests and helped out with a few crucial decisions

Ursula chatting through her story with Michael Rosen

Share a Story Ambassador Michael Rosen was on hand to offer advice to our winners and also auditioned for one of the character voices! Maybe you'll be able to spot it in the finished animation.

Our winners visited the green screen studio for a presenter workshop with Tillie

The day was jam-packed and CITV presenter Tillie guided our winners through the skills required to be a presenter, including mastering the auto-cue and green screen effects. Ben & Ursula took on the presenter challenge and proved to be naturals!

Marc guides Tillie, Ursula, Maisie & Molly in the art of creating sound effects

and the final part of the day was dedicated to the voice over master class with Marc Silk.
Every winner took the time to record their story that will be used on the finished animations.
They even had time to provide sound effects and additional voices for each other.
Molly surprised us all with her terrific seagull impressions!

... and Ben gives them some tips from the director's chair

It was an absolutely brilliant session from Marc and the winners. Their performances were top class.

... not long to wait to see the finished stories!

So now the animations are underway and we're counting down the days to the stories premiere.
Keep checking back as we reveal more behind the scenes of Share a Story 2017!
