What we are
The ITV Daytime schedule offers a wide range of lively, entertaining and engaging programming, reflecting the lives and interests of the audience across the day.
Long-term favourites including This Morning and Dickinson’s Real Deal play alongside new formats such as Take on the Twisters and Secret Dealers. Content range is vital, from the lively debate and topical discussions of The Jeremy Kyle Show and Loose Women to exciting new formatted factual entertainment brands and the highly successful quiz shows, The Chase and Tipping Point.
Recent hits at 4pm have included shows such as Ade in Britain and Britain’s Best Bakery. We have a healthy appetite for commissioning new shows for this hour of the schedule. The priority here is to strike the right tone and mood with the audience. No subjects are off-limits but they should be unmissable shows that you wouldn’t be surprised to see in peak.
What we’re looking for
We would like to build on our successes, offering the audience enjoyable and intelligent programming throughout the day. Great talent on and off screen is vital.
For earlier afternoon, the priority is for robust, entertaining formats, offering original twists on leisure and feature subjects. Peaktime values, humour and originality are what we’re looking for here.
We also welcome proposals for big bold entertainment shows at 5pm that both challenge and engage the audience.
Daytime ideas should be compelling and exciting and must be able to sustain a long running strip with the potential to return.
How to submit an idea
Paragraphs can be emailed to the team at Daytime.Commissioning@ITV.com. A few pointers:
• Titles matter. What title will hook a big ITV audience?
• Taster tapes always help, particularly for character-led ideas.
• Come prepared with thoughts for off-screen talent.
• Simple direct propositions that feel inherently noisy.
• What's the story, the rationale? Why now?
Please note we only accept submissions from production companies.
