Competition opens on Saturday 29 June 2013 as stated in the promotion. Competition closes for entry on Monday 22 July 2013.
In addition to the eligibility criteria in the General Competition, Vote and Poll Terms and Conditions, entrants must be aged between 5 and 12 years old at the time of entry and must obtain prior parental permission before entering the competition. Proof of age and eligibility will be required.
METHOD OF ENTRY
Eligible entrants should go to the website at www.itv.com/cthings and download a competition form as instructed. The form should be printed and completed by hand then returned by post to CITV “C things” Competition, PO BOX 5458, Manchester, M61 0LG (Please be aware that we will be unable to return any entries submitted). Entries will be judged based on but not limited to the entrants’ originality, creativity, how engaging the idea is and that the idea could work well as an animation. The winning entries will be adapted and turned into short animations of no more than 3-12 seconds in duration.
There is no other method of entry other than that specified in these terms and conditions.
There is no charge for entry except that entries must be submitted with the correct postage paid. There is no charge for downloading the entry form but internet service providers’ fees may apply when accessing the internet.
Entries created by groups of individuals, including without limitation school groups or other organisations, will be invalid and will not be entered into the competition. Only one (1) entry per person is permitted. In the event that any entrant submits more than one (1) entry, only the first entry will be considered.
The Promoter and producers bear no responsibility for any entry which is incorrectly submitted, lost or received after the closing date, or damaged in anyway.
All submissions will be assessed by a panel of judges consisting of filmmakers and/or storyboard artists who have experience of working in film and members of the CITV team (the “shortlist panel”), including an independent judge (the “shortlist panel”). The shortlist panel will decide on a shortlist of up to 16 candidates (the “shortlisted candidates”) during the week commencing 22 July 2013.
The shortlisted candidates will then be judged by a panel of judges different to the shortlist panel, consisting of CITV’s graphic designer Wal Werbel, industry experts and other CITV members (the “panel”). The panel will select eight (8) winners during the week commencing 22 July 2013 (the “winners”) and the winners will be contacted shortly after that date.
In the event that the panel ties in its decision, CITV’s Graphic Designer Wal Werbel will have the final decision.
The prize will be for the winners to have their entry animated and for their entry to be shown on the CITV channel.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Promoter reserves the right to publish any entrant’s entry, in any media in whole or in part.
By making an entry you grant the Promoter permission to use the entry in any way it wants. This means that the Promoter can use, edit, reproduce, record, modify, translate, distribute, play, perform, broadcast, make available and display your entry (or part thereof) and/or prepare derivative works of the entry by any medium or method whether now known or later developed, including without limitation on the website or any other website in its sole discretion anywhere in the world. The Promoter may also permit third parties to use the entry. You acknowledge that you will not receive any fee or royalty payment from the Promoter, producers or any third party for the consents and grants given by you in relation to your entry.
