- 1998: Enjoys a courtship with Roy Cropper but shocks him by revealing she is a transsexual and used to be a man called Harold
- Travels to Amsterdam for her final operation and is delighted when Roy arrives and takes her home
- Starts work as a machinist at Underworld
- 1999: ‘Marries’ Roy in the cafe when their church wedding is invaded by press reporters
- Changes her surname to ‘Cropper’ by deed poll (as the marriage isn’t legally recognised)
- 2001: She and Roy become foster parents
- Spends time in prison after going on the run with Roy and their foster child Wayne Hayes
- 2003: Feels a failure as a woman upon learning that Roy spent the night with Tracy Barlow and got her pregnant
