  • 05 Jan 1981: Gail and Brian Tilsley proudly brought home their first-born son, Nicholas Paul, from hospital

  Street History

  • 1982: Goes missing from the corner shop
  • 1986: Has his life disrupted by his parents’ separation
  • 1987: Brian snatches him away from Gail. Delighted by the birth of his sister Sarah Louise and his parents’ reconciliation
  • 1989: Runs away from home following Brian’s murder
  • 1991: Legally adopted by Gail’s new husband Martin Platt
  • 1994: Rebels against Martin and takes up smoking. Moves out of the family home to live with his grandfather Don Brennan. Returns home at Christmas
  • 1995: Changes his surname back to Tilsley in accordance with his grandmother Ivy’s will
  • 1996: Causes heartache for his family by disappearing for a month. Moves to Canada to live with his uncle Stephen Reid
  • 1997: Returns from Canada and romances Leanne Battersby
  • 1998: Elopes with Leanne and they secretly marry in Scotland. Involves Leanne in his revenge plot upon his father’s killer, Darren Whately. Takes up nude modelling for life drawing art classes to earn extra cash
  • 1999: Alarmed when Leanne falls pregnant and pressures her into having an abortion. Moves back to Canada when his marriage crumbles
  • 2002: Returns for Gail’s wedding to Richard Hillman and seduces Maria Sutherland. Takes Maria back to Canada with him but she returns alone after a few weeks
  • 2003: Returns to Weatherfield and becomes Mike Baldwin’s deputy manager at Underworld. Horrified when his sister Sarah’s boyfriend Todd Grimshaw tries to kiss him. Embarks on a brief relationship with hairdresser Candice Stowe before reuniting with Maria
  • 2004: Rescues his ex mother-in-law Janice Battersby from a fire at Underworld. Proposes to Maria but the engagement is short-lived when Leanne successfully splits them up. Moves to Nottingham to take up a new job
  • 2009: Arrives in Weatherfield to meet Gail’s new fiancé Joe McIntyre. Unwittingly kisses Joe’s daughter Tina when they meet in a bar
  • 2010: Buys his way into Underworld, after gaining insider information via a gullible and smitten Kelly
  • Falls out with Carla and opens new bar, The Joinery
  • Starts steamy affair with Leanne
  • Devastated when The Joinery is destroyed in tram crash.
  • 2011: Plots love-rival Peter's alcoholic down fall. 
  • Affair with Leanne exposed during Peter's wedding ceremony to Leanne. 
  • Opens a new bar on the site of The Joinery, called Nick's Bistro.
