  First Appearance

  • 1977: She is born to Deirdre Langton at Weatherfield General Hospital.

  Street History

  • 1978: Her father, Ray Langton, goes to live in Holland after having an affair.
  • 1979: Mentally disturbed Sally Norton takes her for a walk without Deirdre's knowledge. Deirdre disappears fearing Tracy has died when a lorry crashes into the Rovers where she was left. Eventually, the police find her with Sally and she and Deirdre are reunited
  • 1981: Is bridesmaid when Deirdre marries Ken
  • 1986: Adopted by Ken Barlow and thrilled to change her name to Tracy Barlow.
  • 1990: Horrified to see Ken, now divorced from Deirdre, dating someone else.
  • 1991: Manipulates Deirdre into being together with Ken for Christmas.
  • 1992: Upset to find her parents celebrating their divorce
  • 1993: She packs and leaves home, moving in with her boyfriend
  • 1994: Is disgusted when she turns up at number 1, to find Deirdre has taken in a Moroccan toyboy, Samir. During their wedding ceremony, she runs out of the register office as Deirdre and Samir exchange vows
  • 1995: Receives kidney transplant from Samir after she has an Ecstasy overdose. However, after the operation, she is distraught to learn that Samir died in an accident before the operation. She blames Ken for everything, discharges herself from hospital and goes to stay in Blackpool
  • 1996: Moves to London and works as a florist. She marries Robert Preston after only knowing him six months. Deirdre gives her Samir's wedding ring
  • 1999: Tracy leaves Robert and returns to Weatherfield. She reconciles with Robert and returns to London, not before commenting to Deirdre that she and Ken make a great couple
  • 2002: Returns to Weatherfield after splitting from Robert and starts sleeping with Dev. Steals her grandmother's boyfriend after mistaking him for a millionaire
  • 2003: Seduces Steve McDonald. Drugs Roy Cropper with Rohypnol and convinces him they slept together
  • 2004: Sells her baby to the Croppers for £25,000, but snatches her back. Continues to try and lure Steve away from Karen
  • 2005: On Ken and Deirdre's wedding day, Tracy and Amy are nearly knocked over when crossing the street. The man responsible turns out to be Ray Langton, Tracy's long-lost father
  • 2006: Tracy and Amy move in with Charlie Stubbs, who doesn't want Amy. Amy is left with her grandparents before Tracy convinces Charlie to change his mind.
  • 2007: Tracy manipulates people into thinking Charlie is abusing her. She kills Charlie and claims self-defence
  • 2008: Tracy is found guilty of murder and given a life sentence. The judge recommends she serves a minimum of 15 years
  • 2009: At school, Amy is told that her mum’s a murderer and asks Becky if it's true. Becky tells her the truth, upsetting Liz and Steve
  • 2010: Is allowed to attend Blanche's funeral. Back in prison, she finds herself sharing a cell with Gail Platt
  • Tried to extract a confession from Gail in return for a move to an open prison, then lied under oath at the trial. When Gail was found not guilty, Tracy was returned to prison and attacked by Gail's cellmate
  • Let out on bail in December, pending a retrial, as the forensic expert, who gave evidence against her, is prosecuted for fraud and his findings questioned
  • 2011: Her conviction for murder is quashed, Tracy returns to live at No.1
  • She discovers how Steve and Becky came to acquire Max; in exchange for her silence, Steve is forced to give her custody of Amy
  • Works at the Rovers and enjoys winding Becky up
  • Dupes Steve into an overnight stay in Blackpool but fails to seduce him
  • Furious to learn that Steve and Becky planned to flee Weatherfield with Max and Amy
  • Delighted when the McDonalds' marriage goes into a tail-spin when Max is taken into foster care
  • Agrees to the custody agreement that Steve requests for Amy but is livid when he doesn't then offer her the manager's job at the Rovers
  • Forgives Steve and continues to try to undermine his relationship with Becky. Eventually Tracy manages to seduce Steve but when he doesn't want to take things further with her, she leaves Weatherfield with Amy, much to Steve, Deirdre and Ken's concern. However, Tracy is sure to return....
