As Lloyd Mullaney returns home to the cobbles of Corrie, actor Craig Charles chats about where Lloyd has been and how he and Steve are set for a very public fall out.

What's Lloyd been up to since we last saw him?

Craig reveals: "Lloyd invested in a land deal in Jamaica, which was with a member of his family, but that all went belly up. It turned out that he'd bought a swamp. So basically, he’s come back to Manchester and he’s working for a dodgy, broken down, old cab firm called Prima Cabs."

Lloyd is then reunited with former Streetcars partner Steve McDonald, but Craig says they soon fall out. "His cab engine blows up and as the smoke clears Steve McDonald is standing there so they start chatting and he thinks that Steve has invited him back to Streetcars as a partner, but basically he’s only offering Lloyd a job. So Lloyd decides to set up a rival cab firm called Fare Ladies."

What does Lloyd do next?

He adds; "Lloyd sleeps on Eileen’s couch for a couple of nights as he puts together Fare Ladies. Lloyd had said to Steve that one of his ideas for Streetcars was to have more female drivers as it makes women punters feel a lot safer. So, he runs with that idea and set up a cab firm which is solely operated by lady cab drivers."

However, someone is soon trying to sabotage his new business. Craig said: "Tracy turns up asking for a job saying she hates Steve and that together they can grind him into the dirt, so he gives her a job working the switchboard. But she sends cabs to the wrong addresses, phones up Steve and lets Streetcars nick punters and then to cap it off, she pours sugar into three of Lloyd's cabs petrol tanks which means they are completely wrecked and it is going to cost thousands of pounds to repair them."

How does Lloyd react to the sabotage at his cab firm?

With his fledgling business looking to be in ruins, Lloyd suspects Steve might be behind the sabotage and Craig revealed how Lloyd sets off to confront him. "Lloyd knows that Steve is at Amy’s school sports day, so he goes there and chases Steve around the sports field like a nutter." He added: "When he finally catches him, Lloyd wrestles him to the ground and the headmaster comes on with the loud speaker and screams in their ears, he breaks us up and tells us to go and wait for him outside his office like two naughty school kids!"

So could this be the final end for their friendship? Craig doesn't think so saying; "It’s not the end really no, it’s just the beginning really."

You can watch Lloyd's return to Coronation Street on Monday 2nd July from 7.30pm on ITV1.
