Since coming to Weatherfield at the end of last year, Corrie sponsor Aleksandr Orlov and the meerkats have been observing the locals closely, and have even started ‘acting’ like them.
Aleksandr said: “Since our high-profile arrive, we have get to know cobbles like back of paw. Familiarity make meerkats very content.
“But to really fit in, we have learn to act like locals. Already is hard to tell difference. Apart from the fur, of course.”
As they’ve settled in, the meerkats have found natural roles for themselves.
“Maiya is as scary behind bar of Rovers as she was in front of class in Meerkovo,” said Aleksandr.
“And Vassily is a natural at pretend he have something to hide!”
Though Aleksandr says he can’t help but worry about one of his companions.
“I don’t know what has get into Sergei. Since arrive on Coronation Street he has turn out to be very dark horsefly!”
