As the anniversary of the deadly tram crash approaches, Peter’s life seems to be spiralling out of control.
The combination of deep-rooted problems in his relationship with Leanne, the fact that his AA sponsor is seriously ill and his memories of the devastation when the tram veered off the viaduct and crashed into Coronation Street last year, look likely to push him over the edge.
As he struggles with his emotions about having to make a speech at the tram crash remembrance service, he feels the pull back to the bottle. Will Peter turn to drink to calm his nerves?
However, there is one person who knows exactly how he feels.
Carla has been battling her own problems with the bottle and Peter turns to her for comfort and help. But how will it affect his marriage? Will Peter choose Carla, Leanne or alcohol?
