Corrie's Samia Ghadie, who plays Maria Connor, is set to swap the cobbles for the ice rink, when she skates her way onto the next series of Dancing on Ice!

Samia hopes to impress her daughter with her moves and her sparkly costumes on the hit ITV1 show. But she admits she is a worrier and super-superstitious! Armed with good luck theories and partner Sylvain Longchambon by her side, Samia hopes to do well.

Samia was also encouraged to take to the ice by biggest fan, her daughter Freya. "We both love the show, but she LOVES the show, so I’m excited to be on the ice and in the costumes for her," she revealed.

She added; “You’ll probably find me in my dressing room freaking out. I have yellow flowers in my dressing room and at home all the time as yellow is a (Chinese) colour for luck. I like wearing yellow too for luck. . . so maybe I could wear yellow every week!"

You can follow Samia's ice adventure, when the show returns in January 2013, on her profile page at the official Dancing on Ice website.
