When Sian Powers met committed Christian Sophie Webster a strong friendship soon developed into something more.
Despite facing confusing and complex emotions, they came together as a couple. When their love became public, both sets of parents struggled with the relationship, but Sian’s parents were far from understanding and she ended up moving in with the Websters.
Things weren't easy in the Webster household as Kevin and Sally’s marriage broke down and after a row with Sian, Sophie got drunk and fell from the church roof. As she recovered in hospital, the girls made up and Sophie got her life back on track.
But when Sian suggested a holiday, Sophie had to turn it down only to face confusion about her feelings for Amber before asking Sian to marry her. However at the ceremony in church, Kevin couldn’t let Sophie marry Sian knowing that his daughter had experienced second-thoughts and spoke out, ruining the ceremony. In the aftermath Sian learnt of Sophie and Amber kissing when she was on holiday, so Sian left Sophie and Weatherfield with her mum.
