Kevin Webster and Molly Dobbs' ill-fated affair ended when Sally was diagnosed with breast cancer and Kevin stood by his sick wife. Then Molly discovered she was pregnant and reconciled with husband Tyrone, however Kevin secretly took a DNA test to reveal he was the father.
On the night of the tram crash Molly prepared to leave Tyrone but was fatally injured and trapped in the corner shop. On her deathbed, she confessed to Sally that Kevin was baby Jack's father. This sounded the death knell for the Websters’ marriage and a devastated Tyrone handed baby Jack over to Kevin.
When Kevin later had a brush with death following an accident at the garage, Sally softened and allowed him and Jack to return to No.4 until he recovered. However interfering Aunty Pam soon had Sally reconsidering her actions and feelings. And after they slept together once more, Kevin was horrified when Sally rejected his hopes of a reconciliation by first dating Rosie's boss Jeff and then Frank Foster. She also served him with divorce papers after she blamed him for ruining Sophie’s wedding to Sian.
