Gloria Price arrives unexpectedly in the night to the surprise of her daughter Stella, and mysteriously reveals she's on the run.
But before Stella can find out more, her critical mother is already getting involved in her broken relationship with Karl.
Later, Gloria pays a visit to Karl and gives him a slap around the face, before trying to reunite the couple.
Sue Johnston, who plays Gloria, said: "She and Stella have a fraught but loving relationship, it'll make for interesting viewing."
