Rita is surprised to bump into blast from the past Dennis Tanner while helping out at a soup kitchen.
Dennis was Rita's former neighbour - the wayward son of Elsie Tanner - in the 1960s.
Philip Lowrie played Dennis in the first ever episodes of Coronation Street and has returned to resurrect the character. He said: "Dennis was always Jack the lad, always flying by the seat of his pants. He's back and still flying by the seat of his pants."
