About Chico & Jodeyne Higgins

Chico

Occupation:TV personality
Special Skills:Chico time!

Former X Factor contestant Chico is no stranger to performing in front of millions of people – and will be replacing injured Chesney Hawkes on the show.

“While I'm really excited about being part of the new series of Dancing On Ice, it's not necessarily in the best of circumstances,” says Chico.

“I wish Chesney all the best and a speedy recovery. I will not just be skating just for myself, I’ll be skating for Chesney as well and do him proud.”

Let’s hope Chico proves he’s still got The X Factor - on the ice!

Jodeyne Higgins

Alongside husband and professional partner Sean Rice, Jodeyne won numerous medals during her nine year competitive career.

The pair won the bronze medal at the 1993 and 1995 Canadian Championships, but it was in foursomes that they enjoyed the most success.

In 1992 they won the bronze medal, skating with Janice Yeck and Scott MacDonald. One year later they went one better and won gold, and then successfully retained their foursomes title for the next three years, only relinquishing the gold in 1997, when they placed second.

On retiring from competition skating, Jodeyne and Sean began skating together in many different professional shows, including Whiskers on Ice in Hong Kong, The Snow Queen in Germany, and Rink On The Brink, the grand opening of an ice rink on the edge of Niagara Falls.

Jodeyne has also worked extensively on Royal Caribbean Cruise Liners, for whom she not only performs but is also Ice Show Director.

During her competitive career with her husband, Jodeyne was co-credited with the invention of three brand new lifts, and they were also the first pair to complete back-to-back triple twists at the World Championships.

Jodeyne took part in Battle Of The Blades in Canada in 2009, skating with hockey player Ken Daneyko. Jodeyne made her Dancing On Ice debut last series with partner, Johnson Beharry, skating their way to the semi-final.
