Gareth Thomas and Robin Johnstone

Gareth Thomas
Rugby legend Gareth is the most capped Welsh player in rugby history, and describes himself as a 'pussycat'.
Since leaving the world of rugby, he's excited about learning a new skill and having a new focus. He has no fear when it comes to pain so the ice and his partner - new girl Robin Johnstone - had better beware!
Gareth has high aspirations for the series. "I have a dream for this show; I want to be able to do something that’s never been done on the show before. I don’t know what that will be but whatever the move is, I want to be the first celebrity to have ever tried to do it."
Even though he’s keen to win he wants everyone to have a great time. "This is an individual type of challenge, but I’m definitely a team player and I hope that will show to the others. If I’m in the position to help someone else I’d love to be able to. I’d really try and get a good team environment."
“I miss challenging myself since I left rugby - I want to show the real me and let my personality shine through.”
Robin Johnstone
Robin started skating at just two years of age in her home country of Canada.
She has competed in both the junior and senior Canadian National Championships, as well as international competitions. She earned third place in the Skate Canada International Artistic Ladies competition, as well as a gold test, two diamond dances and a gold artistic award in various Canadian Figure Skating Association Freestyle and Dance categories.
Turning professional she went on to skate with the Ice Theatre of Toronto, Paramount Canada’s Wonderland and Paramount Kings Island. She then joined Disney on Ice where she has played principle roles including Jane (opposite Tarzan), performing acrobatic feats above the ice. She most recently played the role of Jasmine alongside her partner Andrew Buchanan as Aladdin.
2012 is Robin’s first appearance on Dancing on Ice, and she can’t wait to get started!
