In one of the closest finals we've ever had, Olympic medal-winning gymnast Beth Tweddle has been crowned the 2013 Ice Queen as she took home the winner's trophy in the Dancing on Ice Final.

Beating off stiff competition from close contender Matt Lapinskas, Beth was named our 2013 winner after receiving the most public votes.

Earlier in the night, Beth, Matt and their fellow finalist Luke Campbell performed three Showcases - big production routines designed to demonstrate how far they'd come - with Beth transporting us to the 70s with her disco-themed Car Wash moves.

The first round of the public vote saw Luke leaving the ice, and Beth and Matt preparing to show off the Bolero routines they'd choreographed themselves as they found themselves within touching distance of the trophy. "Our interpretation is two lovers on the ice," Beth explained about her and Dan's Bolero concept, "We keep coming together and pushing each other away. The Bolero’s going to be mine and Dan’s last performance on Dancing on Ice and we want to make it a memorable one."

And it seems like it worked, because the public vote swung in her favour and leaving our resident gymnast to pick up her prize from Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean in the culmination of a fantastic series.

So it's a goodbye from the rink from us - we'll see you back here next year!
