It's not the first time Anthea Turner has found herself in the Save Me Skate during this season of Dancing on Ice, but sadly for the television presenter, School Disco Week will be her last.
She chose to skate to a song by her teenage crush Donny Osmond in this episode, but her Puppy Love performance - which featured a ballet lift and a full overhead extension - wasn't a hit with the judges, particularly the acid-tongued Jason Gardiner who compared her to "a cheap bottle of champagne on ice" and declared her routine "too saccharine". And it seemed that the public agreed, as Anthea found herself in the bottom two, facing a skate-off against Keith Chegwin.
Talking to Christine before her second skate of the night, Anthea said, "I'm actually wearing one of Pamela's old dresses - I don't know if that's a good thing or not!" But it looked like Ms Anderson's costume could have been an unlucky charm when three out of four judges chose to send Keith through to next week, with Robin Cousins saying, "Anthea you looked divine, but Keith, you skated divinely."
Ever the graceful contestant, Anthea accepted defeat with a brave face, bowing out by saying, "I'm going to miss all my friends here. A million thanks to [Andy] because he's been amazing, and so patient, and has got me to where I am today."
