The 2012 Olympics have been a defining point in the psyche of the British nation. And with children as young as five years old captivated by the Games, Daybreak wants to encourage the sporting stars of the future!
Together with Persil, Daybreak will be giving away 10,000 Team DB sports bags for all the family containing a t-shirt, three mini cones, a ball, frisbee and a whistle.
Prime Minister David Cameron has placed competitive sport at the heart of the Physical Education curriculum, and with UK Sport channeling 500 million pounds over the next four years, Britain’s future athletes should have a sporting chance at success.
Team DB Olympic gold medallist Joanna Roswell told Daybreak: “When I was younger, I never imagined I’d be an Olympic Champion... I would say to children to take every opportunity because variety is really important.”
Daybreak’s Gethin Jones will travel the country in an open top Team DB double decker bus meeting Olympic stars and the generations they are inspiring. He will take part in new community sporting projects, and encourage families that have never done any sporting activity before to get involved. Daybreak wants to capture the spirit of the nation by encouraging families to play together, compete, and have fun.
We will encourage everyone to join Team DB!
