New cosmetic surgery laws

For the first time a new law will require everyone from beauty therapists to medically trained doctors to have formal qualifications before carrying out cosmetic treatments.
It's one of the reccomendations announced today as part of a report into the industry. Non-surgical procedures, including dermal fillers and laser treatment for wrinkles, are largely unregulated meaning patients who have these are being exposed to the risks of botched treatments.
