It's every parents instinct to cuddle and give their newborn baby a loving kiss. But, for parents Marrie-Claire and Carl McCormick, a show of love turned to tragedy after Carl infected his two-month-old son Kaiden with the cold sore virus when he kissed him. The virus led to Kaiden's organs shutting down.
Marrie-Claire and Carl have now taken the couragous step to start a petition to warn others of the risks and prevent other parents the pain of losing a child.
