In support of our Phone Free Zone campaign, almost half of all police forces in the UK have told Daybreak they want drivers to turn their phones off before making a journey. That call is backed by The AA and Brake.
Today we're looking at whether hands-free kits are the right answer to deal with the problem of drivers using phones behind the wheel. Daisy tests the distraction level of using your phone in a car and the difference between a hand held phone and a hands free phone and finds out her results.
We also have the father and stepmother of 28-year-old Mary Bowers, who was hit by a driver using a hands-free kit. She is still in a nursing home, unable to talk or communicate with severe brain damage after being hit on her way to work just over a year ago.
She is not expected to make a full recovery and will need 24-hour care for the rest of her life.
