A heavy snowfall in Aidensfield leaves teacher Jo Weston stranded at her cottage with Nick.
They hear an aircraft crash outside and rescue a heavily pregnant woman from the wreckage.
After helping her through the snow, she gives birth in a run-down barn. But Nick discovers that her husband is a wanted man who scarpered from the crash site when he saw Nick approaching in uniform.
