Younger arrived in 2004 and pretty soon everyone realised he was keen as mustard, wildly ambitious, but dazzlingly naive. He loves being a policeman, and in occasional insightful moments he'd concede that he feels immensely privileged and just plain lucky to be a constable.
He's Miller's public whipping-boy, which makes us like him even more. Alf, who feels he has been dealt with harshly by various sergeants over the years, sympathises with Younger, and offers him advice from time to time.
Younger has a crush on garage girl Rosie (Vanessa Hehir) and things finally look as if they may change for the better in the romance department.
