Brenda is a fun-loving, bubbly character who is loyal to her friends and family. She bailed Bob Hope out when he was going to lose his business, although it turned out she's not the sharpest businesswoman herself as she ended up almost drowning in debt. Impulsive, Brenda doesn't look before she leaps which sometimes gets her into trouble.

- Brenda arrives in Emmerdale to visit her adopted daughter, Gennie, in hospital
- Brenda is horrified to meet Shadrach, Gennie's biological father
2009
- Brenda bails Bob Hope out after going to a loan shark in return for 50% of the business
- Moves in with Terry
- Thinks Viv is a burglar when she returns from prison and is getting money from the shop till to pay for her taxArranges for the new shop sign to have her name on it to spite Viv
- Plans to leave due to her debts, but Terry tells her he’ll use his savings to help her pay
2010
- Sides with Viv after discovering that Gennie and Bob slept together, saying she’s disgusted with her daughter
2011
- Is devastated when Terry dies in the fire after going into the shop to rescue Viv
- Believes Andy Sugden is responsible for starting the fire and drives her car into his caravan on Butler's Farm
- Apologises to Andy when it emerges DC Henshall started the fire
2012
- Sets tongues wagging in the village when she starts spending a little too much time at the B&B
