As Emmerdale's church-going flower-arranging spinster, Edna is prudish and disapproving of everyone else's behaviour - although she does have a softer side which comes out in her relationship with Eve. However, she still likes to let Eve know that she disapproves of her lifestyle. There have been people in the village who have tried to get close to Edna but she's never seemed interested and is happy to have Tootsie as her main companion.
