Jimmy is the eldest King brother, but has been less successful in business than the others, who have taken all the limelight. Matthew and Carl were always more suave and sophisticated than Jimmy, who despite his good intentions can sometimes end up making a fool of himself. However, since meeting Nicola and having Angelica, he's proved to be a really good family man and would do anything for them.

2005
- Jimmy reveals that Tom (his father) and Sadie (his wife) kissed
- Injured in the house collapse and was partly responsible for not getting the right checks done
2006
- Is one of the suspects in the murder of his father Tom King
2007
- Proposes to Kelly
- Jimmy and Kelly’s wedding goes badly wrong when he finds out Kelly aborted their baby
2009
- Jimmy is accidentally shot in the bum during an altercation on a Home Farm shoot
- Jimmy gets it on with Nicola
- Angelica is born and Jimmy ends up with a broken nose when Nicola head butts him during labour
2010
- Angelica's Christening is fraught with many problems but somehow manages to go ahead
- Jimmy marries Nicola
- Nicola and Jimmy decide to buy the Woolpack from Diane but their plans are short-lived when Nicola decides pub life isn't for her
2011
- Jimmy starts acting strangely and it emerges he has been meeting Kelly and giving her money
- During a meeting with Kelly in Peterborough, they row and she hits Jimmy over the head with a torch. When he wakes up he has lost his memory
- The police eventually locate Jimmy at a hospital but when Carl and Nicola go to see him, he cannot remember them or anything about his life
- Kelly returns to the village and tells Jimmy that they had fallen in love in again before his accident and that he is the father of her son, Elliot
- In his confusion, Jimmy decides he doesn't love Nicola and wants to be with Kelly
- When his memory finally returns, he begs Nicola for another chance but she tells him she wants a divorce
2012
- Jimmy battles with Nicola when she demands he have a vasectomy
- But of course Nicola wins and Jimmy has the snip
- Kelly leaves Elliot with Jimmy and vanishes
