Pearl is an upfront and somewhat bawdy person, but is always genuine and loyal. She has the attitude that what you see is what you get, and will always speak out if she thinks something needs saying. Underlying her fun approach to life, Pearl is quite vulnerable and somewhat nostalgic. She hates posh people and snootiness and has a passionate and somewhat daring character.

2003
- Pearl returns from Spain to carry on with her cleaning job, much to a disgruntled Nicola's displeasure
- She opens up to Len about being quite shy, despite her confident image, and tells him she is only after something real and not a fling
2004
- After Len proposes Pearl leaves him hanging with a maybe. Confused, he persists and later, as they dance, she accepts
2005
- Pearl enjoys being a Nana to Owen until Owen asks to see Frank Bernard's grave. Pearl realises that she needs to tell her grandson the truth
2007
- When Len dies during the village pageant Pearl is devastated Another chance of happiness stolen from her by the grim reaper
- When her house is due to be repossessed, Pearl barricades herself and Edna in Jacobs Fold only to be flooded out by the repo men
- As Annie's Cottage burns, Pearl rushes into Jacob's Fold to save some of her photographs only to be trapped by the blaze. An unlikely hero - Pollard - rescues her

- Pearl decides to try speed dating but is mortified when only two completely ineligible bachelors turn up
