A night of reconciliation between John and Moira Barton ends in devastation when the couple land on a cliff edge following a horrific car crash.
They've been estranged for weeks following the revelation of Moira's affair with Cain but when she asks John for a divorce, he realises he can't live without her.
They head off on a romantic getaway to put the past behind them but the Land Rover skids on ice and goes tumbling towards a ravine.
The question is, will they survive?
Actor James Thornton, who filmed the scenes some weeks ago, calls the stunt "dark and gruesome" but insists the most challenging part was "taking the audience on a journey of emotions as they wonder if John and Moira will get back together."
