To kick off our birthday celebrations, we have created and filmed an exciting live music festival ready for our 40th in October.

Declan and Megan have been planning Home Farm's first music festival since the beginning of the year - Home Fields and with a line up including Scouting for Girls and The Proclaimers, the sibling haven't done too badly!

Roy Stride lead singer of Scouting for Girls said, “Having played the Woolpack in 2010 we felt the next step as Emmerdale fans was to appear in the show... and finally now our dreams have come true.

"Our Drummer Pete is the biggest Emmerdale fan I've ever met and I think we're going to have to work hard to keep him focused on the job in hand."

The festival was built from scratch. A full stage was designed and built with a real working lighting rig. Also on set were VIP and backstage areas, food and drink outlets, muddy fields, blocks of toilets, hundreds of supporting artists dressed as festival goers and of course the bands.

Filming took place over three days in August and the full festival line up included Scouting for Girls, The Proclaimers and local bands DeLorean Drivers, Eureka Machines and folk singer Brendan Croker.

Stuart Blackburn, series producer said, "This festival represents the modern countryside: vibrant, young and energetic. It was an amazing feat to put together an entire festival in such a short space of time.

Technically it is probably one of the biggest challenges we have ever had on the show but the end result looks great."

Craig and Charlie Reid of The Proclaimers said, "It was really different from anything we had done before and we had a really excellent day filming with Emmerdale. Everything went very smoothly. Thanks to everyone in the crew and cast who made it such an easy and enjoyable day."
