Dean Edwards
Ex-digger driver, and Masterchef finalist, Dean is a popular member of the team of chefs on ITV's Lorraine show
Dean’s love of food was inspired by his father, who cooked beautifully but was a tradesman by profession. Although he became a digger driver, Dean always cooked for the love of it, so he was persuaded to enter Masterchef by his friends and family. Having made it all the way to the final in 1996, he was sadly pipped to the post but thousands of viewers called in to pledge their support for Dean and complain that he should have won. After his Masterchef experience, Dean sought to change his life radically by leaving his career as a digger driver to pursue his love of cooking and food. He made his debut on This Morning in September 2009, featuring in a weekly cookery slot, and then joined the Lorraine team in September 2010.
