Merrilees Parker

Merrilees Parker's no-nonsense style of cooking has made her one of the most reliable and trusted chefs on TV

Merrilees Parker started her TV career as a researcher for Ready Steady Cook before she became a presenter on Barbecue Bible in 1997. She then teamed up with Brian Turner to present long-running series Anything You Can Cook and established herself as a familiar face in the food world, going on to star in Full On Food, Planet Food, Saturday Kitchen and Daily Cooks Challenge.

Merrilees first realised her potential when she worked as a chalet girl in France and impressed the chef. On her return to the UK, she continued to build her culinary career at The Eagle gastropub in London and later was to become head chef of The Greyhound in Sonning Common and open her own gastropub.

She also gained experience organising and catering for Wiz Events - owned by her Daily Cooks Challenge contemporary Antony Worrall Thompson - before setting up her own catering business with Bernadette Fitzpatrick called Pink Food.
