Chocolate

Although mainly thought of as a sweet ingredient intended for baking and desserts, chocolate is actually wonderful in savoury dishes as well. Native to Central and South America, the cacao bean has become popular all over the world, in various cuisines. The three main types of chocolate are white, milk and dark, with each having a varying level of sugar and cocoa solid content.
Dark chocolate has the least sugar and can even be very bitter. There are some health benefits known from eating pure dark chocolate, such as limited amounts being effective in preventing heart disease. Why not try some indulgent chocolate fondants, simple chocolate and cherry fridge cake or even added to chilli or chicken dishes for a unique twist.
