Ainsley's chocolate Easter nests

A fantastically simple recipe for pretty chocolate nests, perfect to make with the kids

Before you start...

Remember - the nests will need to chill in the fridge for several hours before they can be devoured!

  • 5 shredded wheat
  • 175 g oz milk chocolate
  • 50 g oz butter
  • 3 tbsp golden syrup
  • Mini candy coated chocolate eggs to decorate

Method: How to make Ainsley's chocolate Easter nests

Crush the shredded wheat into a bowl using your fingers.

Break the chocolate into pieces and put into a saucepan together with the butter and golden syrup and then melt over a gentle heat, stirring until smooth.

Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Stir the Shredded Wheat into the chocolate mixture and spoon eight mounds onto the baking sheets, shaping into rounds with dips in the centre.

Chill in the fridge for several hours until set, then peel off the nests carefully and fill with the mini eggs to serve.
