Gino takes the classic Italian dessert to the next level with this extra-chocolately version!

Ingredients

  • 6 tbsp drinking chocolate powder
  • 300 ml10½ fl oz semi-skimmed milk
  • 300 ml10½ fl oz whipping cream
  • 250 g oz mascarpone cheese
  • 3 tbsp caster sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 20 Savoiardi biscuits (lady fingers)
  • 4 chocolate flakes, to decorate

Method: How to make Chocolate tiramisu

1

Put the drinking chocolate and the milk into a medium saucepan over a medium heat, stirring occasionally. When the chocolate has dissolved, pour into a bowl and leave to cool.

2

Whip the cream in a large bowl until soft peaks form. Add the mascarpone, sugar and vanilla extract and whisk for a further 10 seconds until everything is combined.

3

Dip 8 Savoiardi biscuits into the chocolate milk for 2 seconds on each side and place 2 fingers on the base of each dish (break the biscuits to make sure that the bottom of the dish is covered).

4

Share out half of the mascarpone cream between the four dishes to cover the fingers.

5

Dip the remaining biscuits in the chocolate and this time place 3 biscuits on top of the cream in each dish. Finish by smothering the remaining cream over the sponge fingers. Cover each dish with cling film and chill for one hour.

To serve:

6

Remove the cling film and sprinkle the chocolate flakes over each tiramisu.
