Method: How to make Roast turkey and chickens
Smear the butter under the skin of the turkey, then rub the butter all over the breasts of the chickens and cover in bacon strips. Season with salt and pepper.
Place the turkey on a trivet in a deep tray, fill the cavity of the turkey with herbs and pour in 3 pints of water into the tray.
Cook the turkey at 190C/Gas 5 for 30 minutes, then turn the oven down to 160C/Gas 2 for 2 hours. After this time, turn it up to 200C/Gas 6 for a further 30 minutes.
Separately, cook the chickens at 190C/Gas 5 for 1.5 hours.
Skewer the sausages onto the rosemary, wrap in bacon and pop onto a baking tray. Bake for 30 minutes at 190C/Gas 5.
