Gino takes another kitchen dunce under his wing in Lee Goodin, who learns how to make this tasty steak with gorgonzola as a Valentines treat for his partner Elaine.
Ingredients
- 4 sirloin steaks (thinly sliced, approx 120g each)
- 100 ml3½ fl oz white wine
- 100 g3½ oz gorgonzola (cut into small cubes)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 30 g1 oz salted butter
- 1 tbsp pink peppercorn
- Salt, to taste
Method: How to make Sirloin steak with gorgonzola sauce and pink peppercorn
In a large non-stick frying pan, melt the butter with the oil and on a high heat cook the steaks with the peppercorn for 1 minute on each side. Do not season with salt.
Once ready, place the steaks on a plate and cover with foil to keep them warm. Leave the peppercorn in the frying pan.
Pour the wine in the same frying pan that you cooked the steaks and leave to sizzle on a high heat for 1 minute. Stir with a wooden spoon.
Lower the heat to medium and add the gorgonzola cheese to the frying pan. Stir constantly with a wooden spoon for 2 minutes allowing the cheese to melt and create a smooth sauce.
Once ready, place 1 steak in the middle of each serving plate and drizzle over the Gorgonzola and peppercorn sauce.
Serve immediately.
