Andy Murray dropped into the ITV studio after his third-round win against Santiago Giraldo to talk to John Inverdale and his idol, Fabrice Santoro.

"It was important for me to get off to a good start today," Murray said of his straight-sets win.

"The last few days have been pretty long, I've spent a lot of time with my physio and doctor, getting treatment and taking all the right medication so I was glad to come through that quickly.

"I feel a lot better than I did two days ago."

Asked by John Inverdale why he described ITV pundit Fabrice Santoro as his idol, he added: "Did you ever watch him play? For me he was the most entertaining player to watch.

"He could play every shot. Shots that no other players would really think of... because he didn't have as much power as a lot of the players he had to find another different ways of winning the points. Drop shots, lobs, volleys, unbelievable feel, and that's why I enjoyed watching him."
