Shane Richie makes return to Eastenders in explosive storyline
Eastenders star Shane Richie has made a shock return to Walford, he has revealed to Good Morning Britain. The star, who plays Alfie, returned to Albert Square in a classic Eastenders 'duf duf' cliffhanger.
He has left the soap following a storyline in spinoff Redwater which saw him flatlining on a hospital table - leading many to presume he had died. Questions were raised by many after his on-screen other half Kat returned to the soap earlier this year.
Last night he was seen making an appearance immediately before the credits rolled checking if the coast was clear as Hayley entered a hotel room. It left many fans of the soap reeling for more and demanding answers as to whether Alfie is the father of Hayley's secret baby.
He said: "We said right, we’re going to bring back Alfie for these particular storylines – tonight is the big reveal – we can’t tell anybody. I was snuck in."
The star spoke also spoke about Barbara Windsor's Alzheimer's diagnosis. He said: "they're battling on, every day is different a different day for them." Earlier this month he tweeted his support for his former co-star saying that her memory loss could "jog on".
