Double Olympic champion Dame Kelly Holmes has gained numerous awards for her achievements; including BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year and most recently The Lifetime Achievement Award at 2016’s Pride Of Sport Awards. Kelly was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in 2005.
Since retiring from middle distance athletics Kelly started a multi-million pound programme that she ran for ten years to help middle distance runners in this country resulting in two of her protégées competing in the 2012 Olympic Games. In 2014 she led the England Team to their greatest success as President of the Commonwealth Games.Kelly founded and is now President of The Dame Kelly Holmes Trust which supports disadvantaged young people across the UK.
A competent business woman, Dame Kelly project managed the demolition and rebuild of her own business, Café 1809, an eaterie focused on healthy food, which opened in 2014 and has big expansion plans. Kelly admits to being obsessed and driven by success and is motivated in providing inspiration to others to achieve their own goals in life.
