Allegedly kidnapped model Chloe Ayling: 'I didn't lie'
Unless you were in my position, and actually went through what I’ve been through, no one can tell me how I should have behaved with the kidnapper or how I should be reacting now
– Chloe Ayling
As a lawyer for one of the alleged kidnappers of Chloe Ayling says her story could be a sham, the model has today told Good Morning Britain she hasn’t lied.
Addressing reports of a shopping trip with one of the alleged kidnappers, Chloe insists: “I didn’t lie, I just brushed it off."
Pushed again on whether she lied to police, Chloe said: “I just brushed it off, I was shattered, completely.”
She added: “No one understands the reasoning. Unless you were in my position, and actually went through what I’ve been through, no one can tell me how I should have behaved with the kidnapper or how I should be reacting now.”
'I didn't lie': Chloe on shopping trip with alleged kidnapper:
Speaking of the media she said: “They’re just trying to make me look like a bad person to get readers. The papers are portraying the story in something it’s not.”
On going to a cafe with one of the alleged kidnappers before going to police, Chloe said: “I can see why people think it’s weird. But then in my eyes he was the guy that saved me from the Romanians, he was the one that stood up for me and defended me. He was not one of the masked men that took me, who he claimed was always Romanians. He was the one that came in and stood up for me.”
She continued: “I know that when the actual trial happens the newspapers will completely change. The headlines are only temporary. Everyone’s valuing opinions and theories over factual information at the moment.
