Are hospitals making a profit from the vulnerable with high car-parking charges? MPs will discuss the issue in Commons.
The car parks raked in up to £4 million pounds last year for one trust. Jeremy Hunt wants chronically ill patients to be given free or cheap hospital parking, while patients with disabilities, those with frequent appointments and hospital staff will also benefit. Hunt now says hospital trusts are responsible for privately-contracted firms.
What do you think? Is it a vital source of revenue, or should hospital car parking charges be scrapped altogether?
