A man and woman and their 11-year-old son have died after falling into a volcanic crater in Italy after the parents tried to retrieve the boy from a restricted area at Solfatara Crater near Naples. The family's seven-year-old son was also there but survived.
Sir Peter Hall, former director of the National Theatre and the founder of the Royal Shakespeare Company Sir Peter Hall has died aged 86. He was diagnosed with dementia in 2011 and passed away in hospital on Monday surrounded by family. His daughter is Hollywood actress Rebecca Hall.
A family in Lincolnshire who kept 18 men as slaves for more than two decades have been jailed for a total of nearly 80 years. Eleven members of the Rooney family targeted the vulnerable and homeless, forcing them to work for little or no wages and live in squalid caravans with no water or toilets as they lived a life of luxury.
