The metropolitan police have released a new image of the ‘Putney pusher’ who pushed a woman into the road as she walked over Putney Bridge last month. Victims of the disgraced surgeon, Ian Paterson, will be paid £37 million in compensation. The breast surgeon is currently serving 20 years in prison after carrying needless operations which left one patient looking like a “car crash victim”.
The President of the European Commission says Britain will regret leaving the European Union. Jean-Claude Juncker said the UK’s departure from the EU will be “sad and tragic” and insisted the “wind is back in Europe’s sails”.
The officer who was involved in restraining Rashan Charles is being investigated after Mr Charles died on July 22 after being stopped by the police in a shop in Dalston. The Independent Police Complaints Commission investigating his death said: “The officer may have breached the police standards of professional behaviour regarding the detention and restraint of Rashan as well as how he dealt with Rashan's medical emergency".
