Hospitals in England will now be ranked on the quality of their meals, under new rules to banish unacceptable food in the NHS. Those that fail to make the grade will face regular spot checks and large fines. But campaigners say the new standards will amount to nothing unless they're legally binding.
Today the government's promising to drive up the standard of hospital food. It's publishing new mandatory standards for the first time. And there's also a new website which ranks every hospital in England according to the quality of its food.
Ruth Isden is one of the advisers on the Government's hospital food panel, she said what we need to remember is that "hospitals aren't hotels".
