Are you a mum or mother figure who’s been through a lot in your life? Maybe you’ve survived a major illness or even overcome a personal tragedy? If that’s you and you think you’re tough enough, apply before midday on Wednesday 16 March 2016.
Participants must be a mother or mother figure (someone who plays or has played a vital part in the upbringing of children, or perhaps mentoring or being looked upon as a role model by young people), who can tell us why they consider themselves to be tough, for example - through life experiences, challenges they’ve overcome or what they balance in their day to day lives. An example of a ‘mother figure’ could be, but not limited to, a grandparent, a sibling or a friend. This is open to all genders.
Although this is not a race or time trial, this event is of a physical nature and may have an impact on any pre-existing medical conditions/illnesses. Participants must be in good health and able to cover a distance of 5 kilometres in one go. They will also be required to sign fitness disclaimers by ITV and Tough Mudder. All participants must complete a medical questionnaire and provide a doctor's note confirming that they are in good enough health and fitness to take part in the event.
We are happy to consider applications from those with disabilities or long term health conditions and will endeavour to make reasonable adjustments to accommodate requirements (for example, any participant with a visual impairment will be allowed to run the course with a sighted guide). We only ask that in their own and their doctor's opinion, they are physically able to complete the course.
Applicants must be 18 or over as of Thursday 10 March 2016. Successful applicants will be required to provide a copy of ID (passport or driving licence).
Successful applicants must be able to get to the course in Grantham on Wednesday 18 May 2016 at their own expense, in time for registration, which opens at 9am and closes 11am ahead of the run, which starts at midday.
Applicants must be available for a research chat with the production team between Thursday 17 and Friday 1st April.
Successful applicants will be informed on or before Wednesday 6 April. If you haven’t heard from ITV by this date, you have not been successful
