Germany thrash World Cup hosts Brazil 7-1

Brazil were hung out to dry by Germany, who thrashed the host nation 7-1 in the World Cup semi-final.

Thomas Muller, Miroslav Klose, Toni Kroos, Sami Khedira, Andre Schurrie, all managed to score for their home nation, with Kroos and Schurrie each putting two in the net.

Brazil's Emboaba Oscar lies dejected on the pitch after the final whistle.

Emboaba Oscar's 90th minute goal for Brazil was not enough to save face for the host nation, and the South American side limped off the pitch and out of the tournament.

World Cup goes back to school

As England begin their journey to World Cup victory (we hope!) in Manaus tomorrow night, support is growing here in England especially amongst the county's 8.2 million school pupils.
