Britain’s getting digital – are you?

What is switchover?
TV across the UK is going digital. The existing analogue TV signal will be switchoved off and replace with a new, stronger digital TV signal.

Do I need a new TV for switchover?
No, you do not need to buy a new TV for switchover. Almost any TV, even a black and white one can be converted with a digital box or digital TV recorder.

What do I need to do for switchover?
This depends on what TV service you currently have. If you have:
• Freeview, BT Vision or Top Up TV, you will need to re-tune at each stage of switchover to avoid losing channels.
• Sky TV, Freesat from Sky, freesat or Virgin Media on all your TVs you won’t need to do anything.
• Five channels or fewer (ie analogue TV), you will need to convert your TV to digital or you will lose channels. Find out how to go digital.

If I have Freeview, BT Vision or Top Up TV, how do I find out more about how to re-tune?
If you have a Freeview service, you should re-tune your TV if ever you find you have lost TV channels. You can find out more about how to re-tune your tv at tvretune.co.uk
